Rock bottom
At 39 I weighed 120 kg. It was no longer just about how I looked, but about my health. I had fatty liver disease (hepatic steatosis), but it was not the only problem: constant headaches, knee pain, blood pressure of up to 160/100, type 2 diabetes, snoring, chronic pancreatitis and gallbladder dyskinesia. I understood that my body was starting to pay for the lifestyle I was living.
That is when I said “enough”. I realised that if I carried on the same way, the problems would get worse and it would become harder and harder to change anything.
